Lawton Yarns Strengthens European Foothold with Strategic Merger
We are excited to announce that Lawton Yarns has merged with Netherlands’ Spin-group B.V to strengthen our position as a valued supplier to carpet manufacturers around the world.
Spin-group is the parent company behind the Triple S, Spindor 1973 and Baltic Spinning businesses. This deal has enabled us to expand our European foothold; and with state-of-the-art spinning units in England, Poland and Belgium, the group will turn over more than €100m and employ 600+ staff.
Staff, customers and suppliers of Lawton Yarns can be assured that we’ve come together to preserve our standing in the UK. We’re committed to looking for new opportunities through research and development into alternative product offerings for other sectors seeking high-performance yarns. Polypropylene is an ongoing area of interest for us and we’re also investigating additional Polyamide and Polyester offerings.
Our strategy is to legally come together but to continue to encourage healthy competition between the individual businesses to drive innovation and subsequent investment.
It’s an exciting and pivotal time in our companies’ histories and we’re pleased to have found a strategic solution that we are all sure will support the market and Spin-group in moving forward on a stronger, more assured footing.
Richard Collinge, Managing Director at Lawton Yarns and Joint CEO of Spin Group
