To enable us to sell our high quality woollen yarns across the world, we have a network of local agents in strategic global locations and we are pleased to announce that we have recently appointed our first dedicated agent in the US, Eric Scharff. With over twenty years’ experience in the flooring industry, Eric is a senior sales and marketing executive at Henry Kennedy Consulting.

 The new appointment comes as wool is gaining popularity in the US flooring market. Although wool already has an excellent reputation in the higher end of the US market, the majority of the flooring market still favours synthetic fibres as a cheaper alternative. Wool’s natural abilities mean it delivers a number of exceptional benefits for flooring including being flame-retardant, sustainable, stain resistant and breathable. A number of large mills in the US are seeking to act on this opportunity and develop their wool business, making it an appropriate time to expand our presence in the region.

After graduating from the University of Texas with a BA in Political Science and Economics, Eric worked at Nike before joining the wool industry working at companies including Karastan, Glen Eden Wool Carpet and Hibernia Woolen Mills.
